Immunizations

The nurse at the health department provides immunizations for people of all ages; assesses records for families, schools and daycares for immunization status and educate the public about the importance of immunizations in preventing disease.

Vaccines help prevent diseases that used to be the top killer of children in this country.   Maintaining high rates of childhood immunizations protects not only vaccinated children, but also those too young or too ill to have completed their full series of shots.   A reduction in immunization rates inevitably results in an increase in disease.   Therefore, immunizations are crucial to the health and safety of the community at large.

Clinics

The health department holds regular immunization clinics in two locations.  Please call ahead to schedule an appointment for recommended vaccinations and to speak with the Public Health Nurse: (406) 283-2447.

Cost

Lincoln County Public Health makes every effort to provide affordable vaccines for everyone, ages 0-100. We bill insurance when possible but also have several programs including the VFC and VFA that provide vaccines to children and adults who are non-insured or under insured.

We offer insurance billing. For those who are self-pay, immunizations are offered at a low cost. However, no one will be denied immunization due to an inability to pay. Donations for services are appreciated. Please call for pricing questions, (406) 283-2447 or check with your insurance provider.

School Shots

School shots are offered year-round and in schools for specific ages and situations. We work with school administrations and nursing staff to ensure federal guidelines are met. Medical and religious forms are also available.
